Languages Made Easy

My Favourite Italian Shows On Netflix For Learning Italian

If you’re learning Italian, Netflix can genuinely become one of your best study tools.

Because the more emotionally invested you are in a show, the more attention your brain pays to the language.

That’s why watching content you actually enjoy matters so much more than forcing yourself through boring textbook dialogues.

Here are some Italian Netflix shows I recommend:

🎬 Odio il Natale

A fun, easy-to-watch holiday series with conversational Italian and everyday vocabulary.

🎬 Baby

Really useful for hearing younger, modern conversational Italian and slang.

🎬 Summertime

Very bingeable and great for beginners because conversations are often slower and emotional.

🎬 Luna Park

Beautiful visually and amazing for immersion if you enjoy mystery and drama.

🎬 Curon

A darker thriller-style series if you prefer suspense.

How to actually learn from Netflix

Don’t pause every 3 seconds translating everything.

That’s exhausting.

Instead:

  • watch for overall understanding first
  • notice repeated phrases
  • use dual subtitles if needed
  • rewatch episodes later

The goal is exposure and familiarity.

And honestly, Netflix becomes dramatically more useful once you already know the most common Italian vocabulary.

Because suddenly you start hearing the same words constantly across every episode.

That’s exactly why I created my Italian bundle focused on the most common 2000 Italian words first — the vocabulary natives use every single day in conversations, music, podcasts, and TV shows.
