One of the most underrated ways to learn Italian is through music.
Because when you genuinely love a song, you replay it over and over without forcing yourself to study.
That repetition matters more than people realise.
You start recognising pronunciation patterns, sentence structure, slang, and common vocabulary naturally.
Here are some Italian artists I’ve been listening to lately:
🎵 Annalisa
If you like polished pop music with catchy choruses, start here. Her songs are incredibly addictive and great for shadowing pronunciation.
🎵 Laila Al Habash
More indie and atmospheric. Amazing if you want exposure to modern conversational Italian in music that feels current and cool.
🎵 Angelina Mango
She blew up after Sanremo and Eurovision, and for good reason. Energetic, modern, and really fun to listen to.
🎵 Joan Thiele
Dreamy, alternative, and perfect if you like more artistic production styles.
🎵 Ditonellapiaga
Fun, modern pop with lots of personality and contemporary expressions.
Here’s how I’d use music to learn Italian:
- Listen casually first
- Find the lyrics
- Highlight repeated words
- Translate only the important parts
- Re-listen constantly
The secret isn’t understanding every lyric immediately.
It’s building familiarity with the language over time.
And again — this becomes so much easier when you already know the most common Italian words.
That’s exactly why my Italian bundle focuses on high-frequency vocabulary first. Because once you recognise the words artists constantly repeat in songs, your comprehension grows much faster.
